Privacy information
What the service uses and keeps.
This page describes the current StrangerMeetup text chat, optional voice notes, public rooms, bot protection, and homepage advertising.
Anonymous chat
Starting a chat creates a temporary session ID and secret token. The service uses your selected language, topics, and temporary nickname to place you in the matching queue. You do not need a public profile or account to chat.
Messages and temporary storage
Chat sessions, messages, room memberships, voice-note audio, and reports are held in the running service's memory rather than saved as permanent chat history. Inactive sessions and ended conversations are cleaned up after a period of time; reports are retained for up to 24 hours while the service remains running. A service restart clears this in-memory data. Do not treat the service as a place to store messages or sensitive information.
Filters and reports
Some messages containing a limited list of sensitive terms or more than one link are blocked. These simple filters do not identify every unsafe message. A report stores its category, optional note, timestamps, and references to a limited set of recent messages. Reports are not monitored by a live moderation team, and no response time or outcome is promised.
Cloudflare Turnstile
Cloudflare Turnstile is used when you start a text session or join a public room. The browser sends a one-time verification token; the service checks it with Cloudflare before proceeding. The Turnstile secret stays on the server. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for information about its processing.
Voice notes and calls
Voice notes are optional. If you choose to record and send one, the audio is uploaded to the active chat session so the other participant can play it; it is kept temporarily in server memory and removed when the conversation ends or expires. Voice and video calling are currently disabled. The service does not request camera or microphone access for a call.
Advertising
Google AdSense code is present on the homepage only; it is not placed inside chat or matching pages. Google may use cookies or similar browser storage and process information to provide and measure ads. Read how AdSense uses cookies, Google's Privacy Policy, or visit Google Ads Settings.
Your choices
You can skip or end a chat, block the other session, or submit a report. Because chats are anonymous and session-based, blocking does not identify someone who later reconnects with a new session. Never use a report as a substitute for emergency services.
